Modern Simplicity

Bellevue Hill, NSW

PROJECT DETAILS

Set against the striking lines of this architect designed home, a Japanese theme inspired the creation of this garden. The design brief was simple; to create a serene and restful garden. As the existing soil was sandy and rocky, the garden terraces required copious soil replenishment and fertilizer additives. Conveyers were erected at the base of the steep site to transport the soil, pebbles and new plants to the rear gardens. Dark red Japanese maples, star jasmine, clumping bamboo and pebbles were used to inspire a look of tranquility. The pool area was planted simply with citrus and herbs in stone urns. The front garden features mature Lilly Pilly trees which anchor the house into the landscape. A selection of Grevilleas and other Australian natives were mass planted to fill the garden above the water retention pits.

CLIENT TESTIMONIAL

"Ella and I would like to thank Stephenn for the work he has done landscaping our garden. We have appreciated the time he took to work out what we wanted, the numerous discussions we had and the efficiency with which the landscaping was organized. We would be happy to recommend Yates Garden Design to any prospective clients and look forward to seeking their advice again in the future."
